Compact Glovebox Installed

HAZguard Class III Compact Glovebox

Product Description:

The Class III Biological Safety Cabinet (glovebox) is constructed within accordance for this type of equipment as defined in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control/National Institutes of Health publication Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, 5th edition (BMBL) and The American Glovebox Society (AGS) Guideline for Gloveboxes Third Edition AGS-G001-2007.

The glovebox atmosphere is maintained at a negative operating static pressure typically between -0.5” WG - 1.5” WG with an inlet air velocity into the open port of 125 +/- 25 linear ft/min with 10 atmosphere changes per hour that is a once-through airflow system.

The ventilated glovebox is equipped with HEPA filtered supply and exhaust that will have a minimum efficiency of 99.97% at .3 micron particles. The HEPA filtered exhaust is provided close to the glovebox to minimize contamination of the exhaust ductwork. The exhaust filter is rigidly mounted and the filter will be designed to withstand 10 inches of differential pressure.

The air supply system for the glovebox and pass through is a ducted inlet with HEPA filter (active supply). To minimize duct contamination the filter should be installed as close to the glovebox as possible.

The glovebox including the pass-through may be mounted on a stand or a working surface and will be a total of 1968.5 mm (77.5”) wide and 635 mm (25”) in height with the working viewing angle of 10%.

Features:

  • Constructed of 316L stainless steel material with a #4 finish.
  • Rounded corners with a minimum 15.875 mm (5/8”) inside radius to allow easy cleaning and decontamination.
  • The inside of the cabinet bottom is flat.
  • Air monitoring ports.
  • Decontamination ports.
  • HEPA filter aerosol challenge ports.
  • Filter system will be mounted on top of the cabinet.
  • Both return and inlet are filtered. Filters are of a CERTEK design and supplied by CERTEK. Inlet and outlet will have dampening valves.
  • Neoprene gaskets in the 35 to 45-durometer hardness range.
  • Internal opening door at one end with cam lock closure only accessible from the inside.
  • Full-front viewing through a window with a 10% angle. The window will be constructed of 9.525 mm (3/8”) thick polycarbonate with a chemical resistance coating.
  • Four (4) 815 mm (32”) glove ports with gloves constructed of Butyl or Hypalon material with stainless steel entry ports. Gloves shall be mounted 355.6 mm (14”) on center.
  • Two electrical ports (receptacle outlets) are located inside the cabinet.
  • Externally mounted LED electrical lighting will be mounted at the top of the glass along the length of the front viewing area for ease of maintenance.
  • Externally mounted CERTEK controls with digital and mechanical pressure monitoring, external lighting and outlet power-off switches, audible and visual alarms, audible alarm silence switch, main power-off switch and pass-through door interlock.
  • Electrical requirements based on client’s needs. (110-240 Volts AC, 3-16 Amps, Single-Phase, and 50-60 HZ. Maximum loads are determined by equipment to be used in the containment area of the Glovebox.)
  • Monitoring across filters for airflow resistance (pressure drop).
  • Sanitary (tri-clamp) fittings on all decontamination and supply and exhaust air ports.
  • Video Camera is optional (for an additional charge).
